What If...? drops to 9 Episodes

Season 1 & 2 have dropped from a reported 10 episodes each to 9 episodes each. In December 2019 Kevin Feige announced that Season 1 of 'What If...?' would feature ten episodes with a second season of ten episodes also being confirmed. Ofcourse, plans sadly change.

"We had to push an episode into Season 2..."

In an interview with Brad Winderbaum the vice president of Production & Development for Marvel Studios it was revealed that the turbulence of the last year had influenced the decision to reduce the lengths of the seasons.

"There was an episode that just wouldn't hit the completion date, but luckily we do get to see it in the second season of the show," 

He went on to confirm that "Season 2 will also be 9" episodes, which is questionable as the date for a second season has not been revealed yet and it would arguably be possible for them to have a 10 episode second season if desire.

What If...? will now run from August 11th to October 6th in weekly installments on Disney+
